How Much Did Adsense Pay To A Small True Crime Niche Channel?
Everyone who dreams of making a fortune online uploading to YouTube, Instagram or TikTok is interested when someone with monetized content gives you a peek at how much YouTube pays them and True Crime With Alex just uploaded a video showing us how a youtuber, with 10,000-plus subscribers and 393 videos, is doing.
Alex, based in Romania, has been uploading videos consistently for almost three years since August 2022 and she has been concentrating on the "True Crime" niche. Whether crime videos interest you or not, sticking with a niche like this is one of those things all those gurus spout off about (before they try to sell you their course you "have to have to make money online and be successful"), but it can work if you put in the work.
True Crime videos can do well, and doing the research shows they pay fairly well if you attract the right audience or market. Just ask Ray William Johnson, who has been posting feverishly about True Crime in recent years with hundreds of videos and YT Shorts highlighting the subject of criminals and their nefarious wrongdoings to great success.
Alex on the other hand, has not had as successful a YouTube career as Ray (few have) but she's put together a solid body of work and keeps going.
Anyway, let's take a look at how she's doing (Adsense-wise) in her own words in this video she uploaded days ago.
She posted this video on her second channel called YT With Alex where she uploads to fill others in on how she's making money with YouTube videos as well as giving viewers some ideas on how to make better true crime videos which ties in nicely with her main channel.
In the video, Alex tells us that for this past January Adsense paid her $472 which is not that shabby although she received $820 in December 2024. If you know, December is usually a good month for those making an online income as all of the advertisers are clamoring for the online Christmas shoppers market and January usually follows with a decline in their revenue.
Her main channel currently has had about 1,950,000 views spread over the 393 videos she's posted which averages out to around 4,900 views per video although some have more and some have less of course.
Basically, what you take away from her video is that if you put in the work with good consistent content, Google Adsense will reward you.
Your experience with YouTube or the other platforms may be wildly better than Alex's, or worse. And that doesn't even take into account other potential revenue streams like selling merchandise (everything from t-shirts, plushies, etc) to brand deals which many Youtubers use to augment their incomes.
Still, you have to give Alex a thumbs up for sharing how she's doing which might be the incentive to give viewers a nudge towards starting their own channels.
What do you think Alex should do to push her smaller channel to get a little bigger? If you want to leave a comment below, go ahead, or comment on her video to tell her she's doing a great job.
