Your Name: Reaction With Haylo & Kiss

While stumbling around on YouTube looking for something to give me that daily dopamine rush we all crave, I came across this anime video called "Your Name" several weeks ago and although I am definitely NOT an afficionado of all things anime or could be characterized as an "anime otoku" by any stretch of the imagination, I started watching it, finding myself drawn into both the story itself as well as the visual aspects of this movie.

This is the reaction video from Haylo And Kiss whose channel I've recently found and recommend. This video below is them watching and reacting to "Your Name" and from past experience with their videos I just knew they too would be spellbound by this film (and predicted there would be tears) and they didn't disappoint. I had freshly watched it and felt I was sharing something with a couple of friends and I'm sure if you're unfamiliar with the film you'll enjoy their reaction to it as well.

The film was written and produced by the incomparable Makato Shinkai (more about him and his work below). The sheer beauty of the film paired with the emotional roller-coaster it took me on surprised me and I was fully enthralled til the end.

Like most who end up watching it I've became a vocal supporter of the movie and would recommend it highly to any who search for a great story. I'd probably tell anyone who was unfamiliar with good animated movies in general or anime in particular, that they need to give this one a watch because you'll likely have the same reaction I had (and that Haylo and Kiss did too).

Doing the usual background research I end up doing, I discovered that the movie was written and produced by Makato Shinkai and of course I took a deep dive, learning about his body of work that includes titles such as "Suzume" and "Weathering With You".

This film, "Your Name" was the first of the three and was released in 2016. "Weathering With You" followed in 2019 and "Suzume" in 2022.

All have received much deserved acclaim and are numbered among the highest grossing Japanese films of all time (notable accomplishments when you consider the stellar competition). There are other works of Makato Shinkai both on YouTube and his website shinkaiworks.com although primarily (and naturally) mostly in Japanese it has some English components so it can be accessed by those without some proficiency in the Japanese language.

How I Found Haylo and Kiss Reaction Channel

I became aware of the reaction videos posted by Haylo and Kiss after indulging in several clips from the series Band Of Brothers, which, even though I'd watched (and most definitely enjoyed) the 10 part series in it's entirety years ago, clips continue to spring up on my YouTube timeline including reaction videos of various important scenes of the series posted by several YouTube content creators. I thought "Hey, I wonder if I can find Episode One?"

While searching for the first episode, I discovered that sisters Haylo and Kiss had reacted to each of the ten episodes and decided to watch their reactions with fresh perspectives to one of my favorite series.

I enjoyed the insight and banter between the pair for that first episode and ended up binge watching all ten videos. I'd give their videos a thumbs up and decided to see what else that had reacted to so I took a look at what else the sisters had posted and available on their channel.
