Freebooting Reaction Clips?

Image
Looks like someone's using someone else's YouTube content without their consent or permission. What's that called again? Freebooting? Content theft? Well let's take a look at the video first before we level such accusations against someone. The video is called "TOP "Bruce Identity Revealed" Reactions! Batman Begins (2005) Movie Reaction" and it was uploaded today, July 17, 2025 by a youtuber reaction compilation curator with the channel named First Time Watching who has uploaded 715 videos and amassed about 74,000 subscribers and over 57 million views since he started his channel, I don't know, probably years ago if he's posted over 700 video, right? Nope. He created this channel January 2024, so he has been cranking these videos out since then. Looking at his upload schedule the Batman reaction video is the 17th video posted in the last 7 days, so you know our guy has been grinding out the content. Its like he's a machine! Am I righ...

Bad Actors And Reactors With The Act Man

Image
Now this is the type of video I like, where the person uploading the video has something say. This first video was posted back in August 2023 but it still has relevance today. Its from The Act Man , a youtuber quickly closing in on two million subscribers, who has 415 videos on his channel and will be celebrating his 10 year anniversary on YT in two days time, uploading his numero uno video back on June 15, 2015 (congrats!). His bread and butter is usually gaming content but he's not adverse to calling out bad actors online and this was what he was doing on this video. He did balance things out by acknowledging some better reaction content (old H3H3 , and the new, at the time, JJJacksfilms ) but he had to give the stink eye to some other youtubers with "less than stellar" reaction content. So a little recognition and kudos to a longtime youtuber for their hard work. But let's take a gander at this video I mentioned earlier. Its called "The Dark Side of R...

Soggy Cereal Defends Zack D. Films From Freebooters

Image
Dunno if you know, but freebooting the content of other creators is wrong. What's this "freebooting" you're talking about? Well, basically it is downloading a video someone else made and re-uploading without the original creator's permission and usually without their knowledge and getting paid. Basically its the theft of the intellectual property of others for one's own gain. Many channels make use of this nefarious activity to divert views from the person who posted the video (on TikTok, YouTube or one of many platforms) and slapping on monetization so you get paid, because Daddy needs to buy that new car, bay-bee! I've noticed some of the videos of Soggy Cereal , a YouTube creator with a sweet audience of 314K who has been posting since November 2022. He has 59 videos up as of today and points out examples of alleged plagiarism, fraud and your usual scam artists. Not just YouTube drama but he's trying to shed some much needed light into some of t...

SPACEBALLS 2: The Search For More Money

Image
Yeah, the new Spaceballs 2 trailer's a little slim, a little lean in content, but it looks like the movie, the sequel (or it it prequel?) might hit theaters in 2027. Here's the trailer if you haven't seen it yet. Looks like the legend himself Mel Brooks (he's what, 147 yrs old now) is going to be involved which you love to see. No word who from the original cast which be available, but we know, no John Candy (RIP Barf). Still, hopefully we'll get a smidgen of Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) or at least a cameo. There is so much they could do with this movie given all the time that has passed since the original was released way, way back in 1987.  In case you haven't seen Spaceballs (my goodness you've led a sheltered life, haven't you?), here's the original trailer. There's TONS of clips from the first movie all over YouTube that you can watch to bring you up to speed. Also, one of Brooks' other classics from around the same time "His...

Air Horn Pranks And Jump Scares

Image
Yeah, I guess I am an immature guy after all because even though I carry myself with the self-assured nature of a mature man, I lose it for jump scares or things like air hork pranks. Here are some new videos that hopefully you haven't seen yet that somehow found their way into my YouTube feed. The best is when you're scrolling and stumble into a good air horn prank and you tumble down that diversionary rabbit hole and then you realize as you wipe away the tears of laughter that you've wasted an hour on this stuff. Take a look. And here's some more. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dUWbp2dNdBo This one always freaks me out. A doll that moves on its own would be scary as anything you could imagine. A dang possessed doll? The later ones in the video linked below of grabbing peoples' feet from under their beds I find really hilarious (which makes me sound like the weirdo I guess) but it is funny and I cannot help but laugh at their reactions. Take a look for yourse...

New Superman Movie Directed By James Gunn

Image
A new trailer for the upcoming Superman movie just dropped and it looks amaze-balls from what I've seen. Directed by James Gunn who you may know from all three Guardians of the Galaxy movies, which he directed as well as The Suicide Squad . The movie opens July 11, 2025 and will be available in IMAX and stars David Corenswet as the man of steel (and Clark Kent, natch) and I have to say I'm liking the visual aspect of Gunn's version of Superman. Not the staid, kinda static look we usually seem to get but a hectic, herky-jerky, manic movement action star. The action parts in the trailer roped me in and crushed the rather stoic, slow-moving expectation I had and Corenswet has the look for the roll. But you're not on this blog post just to read me fanboying, so take a peek for yourself. Loving the action scenes and odd, off-kilter perspectives which sort of play up Superman's strength and innate power. Plus we get a deeper reveal of arch super villain, Lex Luther,...

Using Adblocker? You'll Get The Big Ol' Stinkeye From Youtube

Image
If you use Adblocker to remove advertising from your video feed you watch on YouTube, the platform might just pull the rug out from under you, just stomp it's feet and go home. Or maybe it won't load on your computer, phone or whatever device used to view content. There's long been something of a push and pull between the YouTube user and the platform when it comes to the ads served up for the free patronage you as a viewer has enjoyed. For most, its almost like a love-hate relationship. Everyone loves the ad revenue but can barely tolerate seeing all the ads. Here's a video from one YouTube content creator, DeepHumor , who raises some concerns with what he sees YouTube rolling out as they strive to combat the pickle of user retention vs keeping or increasing ad revenue. DeepHumor is a longtime content creator having been uploading to YouTube for the last 7 years. He has generated 125,000 subscribers and posted 925 videos. He's put in the work, so his concerns n...

Debunking Joe Rogan With Raven The Archaeologist

Image
Once again it looks like podcaster Joe Rogan was duped by fake archeology. Joe, who has had many interesting conversations with a wide variety of people on his popular JRE Podcast (and you can watch many of them on his YouTube channel on that link) but sometimes he throws out a bit of a clinker, facts-wise, like this one clip he had with NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers about fake Egyptian hieroglyphs but gets fact-checked by Dig It With Raven , an actual expert on Egyptian archeology who swoops in to refute most of the points raised by Rodgers with facts rather than unproven assumptions. Raven points out that they're talking about hieroglyphs from a temple of Seti I at Abydos, Egypt and that these symbols that look like modern machines (helicopter) were caused by erosion of plaster placed over the original hieroglyphs when Seti I's son Ramesses II renovated his Dad's temple. Now they look astonishingly like modern helicopters, submarines and even (gasp!) a UFO! But, nope....

Why I Don't Like Ray William Johnson's YouTube Shorts

Image
First off, I have no problemo when it comes to Ray William Johnson 's YouTube content overall and I've been an avid follower of his stuff from way, way back to his days of Equals 3 and like many, I enjoy his newer content where he provides his own slant on "true crime" stories. I recommend you check those out. But then I noticed something about his Shorts videos. He has tons and freakin' tons of shorts going back years. A lot of his earliest ones are of Ray roasting viewers who gladly requested he turn his gaze on them so Ray could flame them in SPECTACULAR fashion and those were great and although he skewers them unmerciously about their physical appearances, he would end on positive notes and good-naturedly thank them for letting him vent on them. Take a quick look at this recent short video entitled "Steve Martin Got Robbed". Recently his Shorts have become something of an ad or a commercial for his longform content, almost like a loss leader in...

Is Kallmekris Really All That Cringey?

Image
You know when you're scrolling through TikTok, or YouTube (or YouTube Shorts lately) looking for that kick in you humor regions and you find some rando who tickles your funnies? Illicits some chuckles? Or helps push the darkness away, way down into the deepest recesses of your psyche? (I know, you're thinking "tick, tick, tick" and that this guy's gonna snap.) But anywayyy, I am prone to prowling the interwebs looking for fun, entertaining stuff to watch and one of the characters I've been able to find on the regular has been Kallmekris who has turned up a lot in my feed over the years. I think the first video of hers I stumbled over was that one with the tiny hands (I'll find it and drop it in this blog post later) but a lot of her shorter form content caught my attention. It was like, who da heck is this? Offbeat humor that reminded me sorta of early Grace Helbig with just unexpectedly good content. But Kris just posted a mini career retrospective of ...

Penguinz0 Gets All In A Lather About Sydney Sweeney's Bathwater Soap

Image
Well, I guess you have to admire the hustle. Penguinz0 (aka Charlie) has gotten himself all worked up about the latest "trend" that has swept all the simps clamoring to stuff their hard-earned dollars into the hands of the latest version of the "It Girl" for a momentary amount of satisfaction or deluded themselves into thinking that by buying a bar of soap they've achieved passage into her inner sanctum of favor. The soap is just a bar of Squatch soap endorsed by 27 year old actress Sydney Sweeney, but there's MORE! The bar of soap has, as Dr. Squatch describes it: SYDNEY'S BATHWATER BLISS. Made with Nature's finest ingredients, like Sand, Pine Bark Extract and "Sydney Sweeney's Bath Water". Um, sorry, but yuck. All of this soap has sold out and now eBay is the only option if you want some. Anyway, take a look at Charlie's commentary on Sweeney's entrepreneurial endeavor Maybe they think she's now looking upon them with...

Sing With Emma Today Reacting To In Your Eyes (Live Version)

Image
I don't usually endorse music reaction videos, but this one struck a chord with me, firstly because I've always loved the song reviewed here, but also, its a live version that is being reacted to by Sing With Emma Today whose channel I've decided to subscribe to after watching this video and several others she's posted. So let's take a listen to the song is the beautiful "In Your Eyes" by the amazing singer Peter Gabriel (that's a link to his YouTube channel that you might want to check out) and see how Emma responds. To me, the song evokes feelings of joy that seems to connect with the live audience, almost with a chantlike vibe. The music itself has a dreamlike quality combined with Gabriel's seemingly effortless delivery and Emma appeared to be appreciative of his vocal talents and his fellow band members. His singing, when accompanied with the jumping and hopping style of dancing all of them perform is definitely fun to watch but diffic...

moistcr1tikal Vs The Instagram Imposter

Image
Someone's gonna get thumped. You hear the odd person say "You mess with the bull, you're gonna get the horns" and that's pretty much what I think when penguinz0 (aka moistcr1tikal or simply as Charlie to most) relates this latest story about identity theft. If you follow him on Twitch or YouTube, you probably know he's not one you trifle with lightly. Here's a quick peek at his moistcr1tikal stream on Twitch where he's got over 5 million followers. And with that penguinz0 channel he's no slouch either, amassing between 16-17 million subs. But this isn't a blog post to brag about how many followers someone has, its about ID theft and it happens to the big boys and the small fry. First, take a quick look at the following video entitled "I Didn't Realize How Big This Problem Was" as Charlie fills you in on someone impersonating him on Instagram using his alias moistcr1tikal on that platform to hoodwink his followers and friends w...

JJJacksfilms Smells Spam In DangMattSmith's Video

Image
I don't know if you're familar with the videos of JJJacksfilms but I've been following him for a long time. Not "stalkerishly" following him, because that's behavior that's frowned upon. (Note: if you know what I'm talking about, you know). But I've watched his stuff on his main channel ever since he used to upload videos to bitchslap YouTube commentators for poor grammar or spelling and later I enjoyed his lengthy series (over 500 videos!) called " YIAY " (as in Y esterday I A sked Y ou...) where he would post a video showing viewers' commented responses to whatever question he asked at the end of the previous day's YIAY video. Honestly good content paired with viewers' interaction which should be one of the goals of any good youtuber. But fluffing up Jack's ego isn't why I'm posting this. This is because he posts videos on this side channel and I wanted to highlight the video below which he uploaded today. I...

Most Subscribed YouTube Channels (June 2025)

Image
As of June 2025 there are currently 16 YouTube channels with at least 100 million followers. These are some astonishing totals especially when you consider that even ten years ago when Ray William Johnson's =3 channel hit 5 million subscribers many felt that the high water mark had been reached. Today Ray's channel has morphed into more of a "true crime" expose style channel and boasts a very respectable 18.4 million subscriber count. But Ray's days as "The Most Subscribed YouTube Channel" are long gone as today there are many channels which make his 18 million subs look like small fry. Not throwing shade his way as Ray likely appreciates being able to do his thing without the blinding glare he had to deal with circa 2010-2012. MrBeast's main channel just hit 20x Ray's current status and there are 15 others listed below that can claim to have at least 100 million subscribers with dozens more showing massive subscriber counts. The links b...

Your Name: Reaction With Haylo & Kiss

Image
While stumbling around on YouTube looking for something to give me that daily dopamine rush we all crave, I came across this anime video called "Your Name" several weeks ago and although I am definitely NOT an afficionado of all things anime or could be characterized as an "anime otoku" by any stretch of the imagination, I started watching it, finding myself drawn into both the story itself as well as the visual aspects of this movie. This is the reaction video from Haylo And Kiss whose channel I've recently found and recommend. This video below is them watching and reacting to "Your Name" and from past experience with their videos I just knew they too would be spellbound by this film (and predicted there would be tears) and they didn't disappoint. I had freshly watched it and felt I was sharing something with a couple of friends and I'm sure if you're unfamiliar with the film you'll enjoy their reaction to it as well. The video ...
