Okay, to catch up with what has been happening in the world of Wheezy Waiter, Craig has decided to quit Youtube and strike out for fame and fortune with the other guys in his band Driftless Pony Club and tour the nation before playing the big gig at Playlist-Live in Orlando Florida March 26-27. Here's the first video:
The tour kicks off with Wheezy leaving Chicago with the other members of Driftless Pony Club for parts unknown. Well, I guess if they are on tour with a set touring schedule it is not really parts unknown.
So the band is Wheezy (alias Craig)
Matt (alias Matt the guitar guy)
Jeff (slighty ADD drummer guy)
Sam (the running man and part-time bass guiarist)
Bum from the gas station (the band's new driver and bum)
On to Springfield! (Disclaimer: Not the home of television's favorite yellow cartoon family, but the real Springfield.)
Kudos to the good folks in Springfield who got a replacement keyboard for Wheezy. He gave his old one away awhile back as a prize and now likely a prized family heirloom being happily munched on by a teething toddler.
And because you are probably wondering when or if DPC (see what I did there? Used the initials for the band Wheezy's cleverly because that's how I roll. And initialize) is coming to a town near you (so you can pack up the family and vacate the city) here's the tour dates from the 16th of March until it's final, thankful end in April:
Mar 16, New York City, Local 269 on Houston East side
Mar 17, Philadelphia, MilkBoy Coffee - Ardmore
Mar 18, Hamden, The Space
Mar 19, Cleveland, WILBERT'S FOOD & MUSIC
Mar 26 or 27th, Orlando, http://playlist-live.com/
Apr 9, Chicago, Schubas
So, now it is off to Jerry's Bait Shop and the "worst bass guitar store ever."
And then they do a little bit of acting in a touching tribute to the end of the movie "Thelma & Louise". And an old friend puts in an appearance. Not gonna tell you who, but you will laugh at the appropriate time. Or not.
"Bang, bang, bang on the bling..."
So Wheezy and the boys are going to be on the road a little while longer. Will Sam run all the way to Orlando for Playlist-Live? Will Matt's hand actually grow back? How are the bum's pork bellies doing? What is that red mark on my back? All these questions and many more will not likely be asked or answered in another edition of The Driftless Pony Club winding around and getting prepared for Play-List Live Tour thing. Poor Craig with a wig looked munched in the back of the van.
